My December Holidays

My December Holidays

To me, December holidays is just a time to give yourself a break from studies and stress and finally to get ready for the new year. Unlike most people, I did not get to go overseas during the December holidays. However, I had a memorable and fun one. On the other hand, with all the fun and stuffs, I started procrastinating and unfortunately left my homework to the last and couldn't complete them in time.

To start of with the holidays, I went to USS one the second day of holiday with two of my primary school friends!! We were pretty much excited for this trip as we had planned it like a few weeks back after the EOY as it was after all our first time going so far to sentosa without our parents. Firstly, we took a bus there and tried getting our entrance ticket as soon as we got there.
The amusement park was crowded with people in the morning with tourists and ride queues were long and it made me pretty disappointed as I thought there would be lesser people in weekdays. Although there were tons of people there, the weather was good that day and we took the ride over and over again. After which, when it is about the noon, we started getting hungry and went to the food court in Jurassic Park and had chicken rice which cost over 10 bucks!! Well, we kind of expected that brought enough money fortunately.
Towards the late afternoon, the number of people got lesser and we go on the water ride several times consecutively and got ourselves totally drenched as we decided to take off our raincoat because you only live once haha!! In the three of us, I was the most daring one and had to sit the roller coaster on my own!! It was the mummy ride and I remembered vividly as there were very less people and I was sitting the row of the roller coaster on my own!! ><
Finally, it was evening, close to 6pm. We were so reluctant to leave that place as we had so much fun and created so much memories there! We walked the whole amusement park once more before leaving for dinner at pastamania at a mall near USS. We had a hard time locating pastamania and we walked for at least an hour before settling down to eat. After eating, we continued walking and shop for awhile more to 'digest' our food, but actually because we didn't want to go home so easily. And FINALLY, we rode a bus home and were all tired.

On the first few weeks of November, I went back to school with my fellow classmate, Yu Han, for the TKK competition. We had gone back for long hours, working with our teacher-in-charge, Mr Tan. We came out with many proposals of our inventions, but was however rejected and we had to keep producing ideas with the help of Mr Tan. The two of us were taught on how to use some workshop equipment like the drilling which we used it to make our prototype of our invention. Yu Han and I stay in school until late afternoon for a few days just to finish doing this project and we learnt how to persevere at the end of this project.

I also went to the science centre for a Bio-medical Science workshop which I signed up before the holidays. As seen on the picture, I went around with my friends at the entire science centre after the workshop and explored many new things!

During the mid-December, I had dance practices preparing for SYF and several sessions of physical training. These training were very energy exhausting and everyone had gotten muscle aches and some of us even injured ourselves during these trainings and practices. I felt that all these dance practices were very meaningful as a whole team or batch, the year 2s, had gone through thick and thin together. We learnt how to help one another and 不管挑战多大,我们都得坚持到底. We ate together during lunch breaks, danced from early morning to late afternoon. We had all sweat together, got scolded together, danced together, we are one. Although the year 2 dancers are still not bonded together, at least throughout the December holiday practices, I had got to know my batch mates better. I'm really grateful that in dance, there are people who care for you and help you up when you fall down.

Other than dance practices in studios, we also had gone out for a dance chalet. We had fun night cycling and barbecuing although we didn't get to stay over night. Additionally, we went for a dance performance by the Horizon Troupe Singapore, presenting 'Saltation'. It was held at the UCC at night. It was a splendid performance and I get to see amazing dancers with great choreography. After every performance, I learnt a lot from the dancers and felt that I had many more to improve on and hope to be one of the dancers on stage like the Horizon dancers.

In conclusion, I had a pretty well spent holiday, spending time with friends and having much fun in it but I think the only thing that can be improve is that I ought to have a better study plan so as to finish my holiday homework in time and better prepare myself for Year 2.
