my refelction- poverty in singapore

In this lesson, I learnt about how one picture can really mean and how poverty can affect someone. I feel that we should really note about poverty in Singapore. When someone actually asks you for some money or help. We should really consider if that person is telling the truth or a lie. We should weigh our options and make the right decision. We should not judge based on the person's looks and come to a conclusion. Make the right choice.
In this lesson, I actually did not think if the person was really telling the truth before I decided to offer the person my dollar. I judged on whether the person needed the money more. I feel that people who are healthy and well should not go on the streets and act as if they themselves are poor. When I first saw the picture, I wondered that if I helped the lady, than the lady would be able to make use of the money to help her baby.
Sometimes when I walk on the streets or am at the MRT, I would sometimes see people begging for money, some of them have one leg missing, one hand missing or are wearing  torn clothing. Until now, I think I have helped only one or two people because of the fear that these people are actually fake. Some of them actually purposely hide their legs under the blanket two make it seem like they have lost a part of their body and make it seem as thought they are very helpless.
In conclusion, whenever we want to help someone, we have to make sure that the person really needs help or are putting on an act.
